When is a project car actually finished?

You put in the hours, spend the money, install the parts, fix the problems, and finally get the car to a point where you think, “Okay… I’m done.”

In this episode of KONIG Behind the Wheel, Matt & Nick talk about why project cars are almost never truly complete. As new technology, new parts, and new ideas come along, there’s always something else you could add, upgrade, replace, or improve.

Maybe your older JDM car is already heavily modified, but suddenly you want to add a backup camera. Maybe the turbo you installed five years ago doesn’t seem quite big enough anymore. Or maybe you just discovered a new part that you absolutely have to have.

At what point do you stop building and start enjoying the car?

We’re talking about the endless project car mentality, the temptation to keep modifying, and whether an enthusiast can ever really look at their build and say, “It’s finished.”
